Is servlet is used to create a dynamic webpage or Static webpage or both?

Yes both servlet is used to create a static and dynamic webpage,it also create a static webpage using serverside include it is .shtml extension,and so servlet is flexible character.:s, possible. but we are not suppose to develop these(static servlets) types of servlets. we need to develop dynamic servlets.
